The municipality of Kolová consists of two parts, Kolová and Háje. It lies about 6 km southeast of Karlovy Vary, on the edge of the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area. Kolová Primary School, which provides the first stage of primary education and an after-school club, is in Kolová; the school canteen is in Háje.

The municipality has the Chapel of Saint Anne and a memorial to the victims of the First World War. Golf Club Háje has operated a nine-hole course since 2004.
